John 8:49-51 (NIV) “I am not possessed by a demon,” said Jesus, “but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.
I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge.
I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.”
The Jews were questioning at this point if Jesus was possessed by a demon. They didn’t believe him, because he had just kept them from stoning a woman that was caught while committing adultry. He had said for the first stone to be cast by the person who had committed no sins. Same as today, noone could cast that stone, but Jesus Christ. They were having a hard time understanding that Jesus wasn’t there to glorify himself, but to glorify God. He seemed like the outcast, since others did not understand. Do you feel that way today? Do you feel like you don’t have any friends? Sometimes that is because you are living the life God called you to live. Usually in this world big groups of people are full of sin and trouble. Jesus taught the ones that would listen, he never once tried to join a group to fit in, neither should you! God will give you the people you need in your life to fulfill your purpose here.
